Celebrating 30 Years of Innovation: A Partnership with Region Skåne
As CellaVision marks its 30th anniversary, we take a moment to reflect on our journey and the important role that Region Skåne, our first-ever customer, has played in shaping the future of digital cell morphology. Over the past two decades, Region Skåne’s adoption of our technology has not only advanced their hematology laboratories but has also contributed significantly to our growth and development as a company.
A Visionary Partnership
In 2001, Malmö University Hospital, part of Region Skåne, became the first hospital in the world to implement CellaVision’s digital cell morphology technology. At that time, traditional methods such as microscopes were still the norm in blood cell analysis. Region Skåne saw the potential of digital solutions to improve efficiency and diagnostic certainty, becoming a leader in the adoption of innovative healthcare technologies.
Since then, Region Skåne has expanded its use of CellaVision’s analyzers, equipping nine laboratories across southern Sweden with our advanced systems. These facilities now rely on our DCM technology to streamline workflows and ensure high-quality results, regardless of location. A dedicated team of 90 people work with the CellaVision systems, processing approximately 55,000 slides per year. This wide-scale adoption has secured efficient cooperation between all their laboratories.
Looking Ahead
As CellaVision celebrates 30 years of progress, we remain grateful for our longstanding partnership with Region Skåne. Their vision and commitment to advancing hematology have been crucial in helping shape the direction of our products and services. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with Region Skåne and all our customers, bringing innovative digital solutions to the global healthcare community.
