Kit RAL TB Prep™
Ref. 360000-0000
Description
Sample digestion and decontamination kit for diagnostic of mycobacteria
What is Kit RAL TB Prep™?
Mycobacteria diagnosis relies on a very specific technique, both laborious and critical for good patient management. Most of the time TB lab technicians must process their samples in a restrictive environment (L3 safety laboratories, CAP or ISO accredited) while they are expected to give faster results.
This is why RAL Diagnostics has developed a kit for the preparation of TB sputum samples. This kit aims at facilitating sample handling and routine technique while ensuring accurate results.
New Kit RAL TB Prep™
RAL TB Prep is a sample processing kit for the diagnosis of mycobacteria. It has a double action: it digests the sample to release mycobacteria embedded in the mucus and then it decontaminates it through a chemical process (Kent & Kubica Method).
Once digested and decontaminated, viable samples can be used in different techniques including staining, culture (solid & liquid) and PCR…
How Kit RAL TB Prep™ works?
RAL TB Prep Kit protocol – 4 steps
1 – Simultaneous Decontamination and Fluidification
The sample is decontaminated by TB Prep Solution (NaOH 3%) and, at the same time, fluidified thanks to NALC pre-filled tubes
2 – Neutralization of TB Prep Solution
The disposable Sterile TB Prep Buffer neutralizes the TB Prep Solution and keeps mycobacteria alive for the next steps of TB diagnosis (microscopy, solid and liquid cultures, PCR…)
3 – Centrifugation
Centrifugation is safely performed thanks to robust polypropylene tubes
4 – Processing of mycobacterial pellet
Mycobacteria are concentrated in a sterile buffer, ready for the following diagnostic techniques.
Benefits
Streamline your mycobacteria workflow
- Easy 4-step protocol
- Number of bottles adjusted for a fast and streamlined protocol
- Compact kit including removable parts for easy transportation inside a L3 lab or work bench according to daily needs.
- Centrifuge tubes pre-filled with NALC
- Visual pH indicator for an immediate control of mycobacterial environment
Give a reliable result
- Technique based on Kent & Kubica, a well proven method allowing both solid and liquid culture as well as PCR.
- Limited cross contamination thanks to the single use sterile buffer.
- pH indicator ensures the viability of mycobacteria for culture.
Save time
- Reduced and simplified handling steps.
- All reagents and tubes needed for the complete test are included and ready to use.
Work your routine technique safely
- Robust tubes (polypropylene) ensure the highest standard of safety during centrifugation step.
- Technique designed to reduce to minimum the waste in the laboratory.
