Description

Fast acting variation of Romanowsky stain
(similar results to Wright-Giemsa or May-Grünwald stain)

RAL DIFF-QUIK™ is distributed exclusively by Siemens Healthineers, and its distributors.

CellaVision - RAL Diagnostics and Siemens Healthineers have signed an agreement to commercialize a new generation of fast differential staining offer, RAL DIFF-QUIK

This offer is replacing the product formerly named Siemens DIFF-QUIK™ set.

3 reasons to choose RAL DIFF-QUIK™

Rapid

RAL DIFF-QUIK™ is a simplified and cost-effective alternative to Wright-Giemsa staining, and is faster than typical staining procedures. It reduces the process from 4 minutes to 15 seconds !

Its speed of execution makes it an ideal stain for emergency diagnostics. Cytology studies of medullary and bloods smears.

Easy

This 3-step method is very easy. Consisting of 3 brief immersions in each of the RAL DIFF-QUIK™ solutions. This manual protocol allows the user to customize and vary the staining intensity. The different degrees of shading allow RAL Diagnostics to deliver preferential staining to every lab.

Ready-to)use

A new packaging has been created for its two complete kits :

RAL DIFF-QUIK™ STAIN SET (3 x 0.5 L) & RAL DIFF-QUIK™ EZ-KIT (3 x 100 mL), which includes 3 wide necked bottles to allow the user to directly dip the slides into vials without any transfer of chemicals.

Each kit contains :

  • RAL DIFF-QUIK™ fixative solution

It fixes air-dried blood smears. This methanol based solution will stabilize cellular components. Solution I and II are applied individually to the fixed smear to differentially stain specific cellular components.

  • RAL DIFF-QUIK™ solution I (Xanthene solution)

it is a buffered solution of Eosin Y (an anionic dye)

  • RAL DIFF-QUIK™ solution II

Solution II is a buffered solution of thiazine dyes (cationic dyes) consisting of methylene blue and Azure A. The resultant basophilic staining of nucleoli and cytoplasm is due to the methylene blue component of the mixture. The anionic component of the nucleoli ans cytoplasm, which is stained with the cationic methylene blue, is presumed to be RNA.

Results

The nuclei are stained red to purple (meta-chromatically) by the azure component of the dye mixture. It is believed that DNA is capable of functioning as a chromotope for Azure A, B and methylene violet.

The xanthene solution (I) stains cytoplasm pink to yellowish-red.

Applications

  • Hematology : Blood smears
  • Veterinary parasitology : Piroplasma
  • Hematology : Bone marrow
  • Cytology : Spermocytograms
  • Cyto-bacteriology : Cytology of biological fluids, urines, cytopunctures and CSF.

Other applications available

  • Staining of Plasmodium (thin and thick smear for Malaria detection), Protocol n°26
  • Staining of Tissular Protozoa (Cryptosporidium pneumocystis carinii), Protocol n°26
  • Staining of Helicobacter Pylori on histological sections, Protocol n°97
  • Staining of fixed and parafinned tissues sections, punctions, Protocol n°42bis
  • Staining of Trichomonas, microfilaria, and veterinary parasitology of piroplasma, M. Pachydermatis, Protocol n°26

Why would you choose RAL DIFF-QUIK™?

It delivers clear, precise staining faster and easier, in one ready-to-use kit !
